Man dies following incident in Craigieburn

A man has died in hospital following his arrest in Craigieburn.

Officers were called to a Discovery Close address to reports of a man behaving erratically about 2.55pm.

The man was arrested by police and became unresponsive.

The 27-year-old Craigieburn man was treated by paramedics before being conveyed to hospital in a critical condition where he later died.

The exact circumstances surrounding the man’s death are yet to be determined.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad will investigate the incident with oversight from Professional Standards Command, as per standard practice where someone dies after being taken into police custody.
