Man located deceased in Maffra

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Maffra last night.

Emergency services were called following reports two men were located with serious injuries on Landy Street about 10pm.

When police arrived, they found a man deceased and a 46-year-old man with serious injuries.

The 46-year-old Maffra man was taken to hospital under police guard.

At this stage it is believed the parties are known to each other.

Homicide Squad detectives are attending the scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
