Man pulled from burning car in Craigieburn

A man was lucky to escape serious injury following a crash in Craigieburn last night.

Officers have been told a motorist, who was seen weaving in and out of traffic just prior to the collision, was
driving along Craigieburn Road when they lost control and crashed into a wire rope barrier about 8.35pm.

The vehicle burst into flames before other motorists who had stopped at the scene - were able to help the driver from the vehicle.

The 19-year-old from Lalor was lucky to escape serious injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Fawkner Highway Patrol are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and reports the vehicle was travelling at speed prior to the crash.
