Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information after a man was found deceased on the side of the road in Morwell this morning.
A passerby located the man’s body on the Princes Freeway overpass, which runs over Princess Drive, just before 9am and notified police.
At this stage it is believed the 40-year-old man from Traralgon has been struck by a vehicle, which left the scene.
Investigators have established the collision occurred sometime after 1am and before 9am, on 22 May.
Detectives are appealing to motorists who were travelling Traralgon bound, during this time on the Princes Freeway, to check their dashcams.
Motorists may have inadvertently captured the man as he was walking in the area, or the vehicle involved.
Detectives from MCIU will be on scene for most of today while they process the scene.
Anyone with any information, or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
