Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the discovery of a man’s body in Avalon yesterday evening.
Emergency services were notified after an unoccupied kayak was located in the vicinity of Limeburners Bay in Corio about 1.30pm.
General duties officers were assisted by Water Police, Air Wing, Marine Search and Rescue and SES volunteers in the search, which sadly resulted in the discovery of a man’s body in waters off Avalon Road in Avalon about 6.50pm.
The 60-year-old East Geelong man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
