Moorabbin Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance following a hit-and-run collision where a child was injured in Murrumbeena last week.
A boy was riding his bicycle on a pedestrian crossing when he was struck by a car near the intersection of Railway Parade and Ardyne Street on Thursday 1 May about 3.30pm.
The vehicle continued to travel westbound on Railway Parade without stopping to help the child.
The 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators have released CCTV footage and still images of a vehicle described as a silver Toyota Yaris that they believe will assist in the investigation. It is believed the vehicle is missing its driver’s side mirror following the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam/CCTV footage from the area prior to the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
