A Greenvale man has had his car impounded and will face a magistrate after allegedly travelling more than twice the speed limit in Brunswick West last night.
Fawkner Highway Patrol officers detected two vehicles, one being a Mercedes A250 sedan, driving erratically and at a fast rate of speed on CityLink about 9.55pm on Sunday 11 January.
The Mercedes was detected travelling at an alleged speed of 185km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke with the alleged 27-year-old driver.
He is expected to be charged on summons with dangerous driving and speeding offences.
The Mercedes was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $999.52.
