Police have a number of approaches in place to address hooning across Melbourne’s north west and the rest of Victoria.

For the past few months, police created a dedicated covert operation, known as Afectar, to build an intelligence picture of these organised hoon meets. Its aim is to deter, disrupt and apprehend hoon meetings across Melbourne but predominantly in the north west.

Police have charged a number of people for hooning.

Inspector John Kearney says, “watch out, we’re coming for you.”
