Police investigate Citylink serious injury collision

Police are investigating a serious injury collision in the city bound lanes of Citylink, Burnley, early hours this morning.

Emergency services responded to reports of a car travelling contraflow to traffic before colliding with a truck about 2.10am.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old Wyndham Vale woman, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, a 51-year-old Aintree man, was not injured.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing.
