Police investigate Hamilton death

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after a woman was located deceased at a residence in Hamilton last night.

Officers attended the residence on the Henty Highway about 7.30pm on Thursday, 15 May to conduct a welfare check.

Police located the body of a 48-year-old Hamilton woman at the scene.

Officers searched the nearby area and arrested a 48-year-old Hamilton man who will be interviewed.

It’s believed the parties were known to each other.

The exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
