Police investigate suspicious fire in Prahran

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious fire which occurred in Prahran this morning.

Officers were patrolling the vicinity of Malvern Road and Chapel Street about 2.05am when they noticed a fire at a nightclub.

Fire crews are on scene and are attending to the blaze.

Fortunately the club was empty at the time and no one was injured.

At this stage the fire is believed to be suspicious and an arson chemist will attend once the fire is extinguished to determine the cause.
