Search continues for missing man in Goulburn River

Police are continuing to search the Goulburn River in Ghin Ghin today, after a man reportedly overturned in a kayak yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the water near Ghin Ghin Road where it’s believed a man had been fishing in a kayak, when it overturned about 10.50am on Saturday 18 July.

Another person was on the bank of the river at the time and called for assistance.

Local uniform police, with the assistance of Search and Rescue and SES searched the river and surrounding areas yesterday.

The 53-year-old man is yet to be located.

A significant search of the river is underway again today including Water Police, SES, police divers, Search and Rescue and a police drone.

SES are also assisting in searching the banks around the river.
