North West Metro Regional Crime Squad detectives have charged a second man following an alleged aggravated burglary in East Melbourne on 4 September.

Detectives from Taskforce Hawk also assisted with today’s charges, after information about the alleged offending was located during a separate unrelated investigation into criminality linked to the construction industry.

This follows the arrest of two men and a woman in Moonee Ponds on 17 September after a spate of offending across various Melbourne suburbs.

A 38-year-old Brunswick man has been charged with attempted aggravated home invasion, burglary and intentionally cause injury.

He remains in custody for separate matters and is expected to front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 6 October.
