Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following their arrest by the Special Operations Group in Melton West yesterday.
The arrests in High Street formed part of several ongoing investigations into incidents, some involving firearms, since October last year.
A 29-year-old man from Altona has been charged with 12 charges including stalking, prohibited person use and possess firearm, reckless conduct endangering death/life, possess drug of dependence, cultivate cannabis and handle stolen goods.
The charges relate to:
- An ongoing dispute between parties where it is alleged a tracker was installed onto a vehicle on 7 December.
- An incident on 28 December where it is alleged several shots were fired, using a 3D printed firearm, at various objects in the street in Altona.
- The execution of a warrant at a property in Altona yesterday where suspected stolen good were seized.
A 29-year-old man from Sunshine received 10 charges including prohibited person use and possess firearm, reckless conduct endangering death/life, burglary and theft.
The charges relate to:
- An incident on 28 December where it is alleged several shots were fired, using a 3D printed firearm, at various objects in the street in Altona.
- The alleged theft of a mail parcel containing camping heaters on 28 December.
- An alleged burglary and theft at a property in Dromana on 7 December, and
- the theft of food and drink from a convenience store in Dromana on 24 October.
The pair were remanded in custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
