Teen charged following shopping centre stabbing - Maribyrnong

Alliance Taskforce detectives have charged a teenager following a stabbing at a shopping centre in Maribyrnong earlier this week.

A 16-year-old boy from the Wyndham area was arrested this morning.

He’s been charged with affray and recklessly cause injury and will face a children’s court today.

The charges follow an alleged incident where a group of teens were fighting outside a cinema in a shopping centre on Rosamond Road just after 7pm on Wednesday, 27 May.

A 16-year-old boy from the Hume area was allegedly stabbed and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two teenagers sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

The offenders fled on foot before police arrived.

A knife was located at the scene and seized by police.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
