Teen charged following Sunbury stabbing

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager following a stabbing incident at Sunbury Railway Station yesterday afternoon.

It is alleged the teen approached a group of youths on a platform and stabbed one boy following a dispute about 4.40pm.

The 17-year-old boy from the Hume area was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Protective Services Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from the Geelong area at the scene.

He’s been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, affray, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, assault with a weapon and possess controlled weapon.

He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
