Geelong police have charged two boys following an affray in Geelong last week.

It is alleged a boy was assaulted by a group of male teens in the vicinity of Little Malop Street and James Street about 5.30pm on Wednesday 1 April.

A number of teens allegedly fled prior to police arrival.

Officers on patrol responded quickly and spoke to two boys who remained at the scene.

There were no reported injuries and the remaining boys did not wish to make a statement to police.

Geelong police and members from the local Crime Reduction Team and Youth Tasking Unit arrested three 14-year-old boys last night.

Two 14-year-old boys from the Greater Geelong area have been charged with affray, riotous behaviour and use threatening words in a public place.

The pair were bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The third teen was interviewed in relation to outstanding matters and it was determined he was not involved in the incident on 1 April.

Officers are aware of the remaining youths alleged to be involved in the incident and are expected to make further arrests in the near future.

Police continue to investigate and appeal for any teens involved to come forward to investigators.

Anyone with further information or dashcam/CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

Every day officers are tasked to patrol the Little Malop Street area as a priority – whether it be in a police vehicle or on foot – particularly during high foot traffic periods.

On top of daily patrols, police conduct regular operations to target public order, weapons and retail theft.

Anyone who witnesses violence or anti-social behaviour is urged to call Triple Zero (000) so police can respond and keep you safe.
