Officers from the Croydon Divisional Response Unit have charged three teens following two armed robberies in Boronia last week.
Investigators allege two teenage boys, both aged 15-years-old, were approached by a group of three males at a bus stop near Chandler Road about 5pm.
One of the males allegedly produced a machete, threatened one of the 15-year-olds and made demands for his belongings.
The boy refused to comply before the three males allegedly grabbed him, removed his backpack and assaulted him.
It is alleged the same three males approached the second 15-year-old boy, demanding he handover his e-scooter.
One of the males allegedly assaulted the boy before stealing his bag and scooter.
All three males fled the scene, one allegedly riding the scooter.
Despite uniform police and detectives searching the area, the males were not located.
The two 15-year-old boys did not require medical attention.
Following an extensive investigation, police arrested three teenage boys in Heathmont and Lilydale yesterday.
A 16-year-old from the La Trobe area, a 17-year-old from the Maroondah area and a 16-year-old from the Ballarat area were interviewed and charged with multiple armed robberies and assaults.
The trio are remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
