Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged three males as part of their investigation into an aggravated burglary in Meadow Heights last month.
A 17-year-old boy from the Hume area and an 18-year-old Bellfield man were arrested yesterday (Thursday, 23 April).
A 17-year-old boy from the Banyule area was arrested on Thursday 16 April.
They have all been charged with:
• Aggravated home invasion (firearm)
• Aggravated burglary (firearm)
• Criminal damage
• Intentionally cause injury
• Common law assault
• Discharge firearm at premises
• Possess handgun
• Possess loaded firearm in public place
• Use firearm in dangerous manner, and
• Theft of motor vehicle
The 18-year-old man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 July.
The two boys will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
The charges follow an incident where a number of males gained entry to a Buchan Street residence shortly after 3am on Sunday, 22 March.
It will be alleged an altercation occurred inside the residence and a firearm was discharged.
A 43-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man inside the premises at the time sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
