Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three youths following an alleged armed robbery in Hoppers Crossing yesterday afternoon.
It is alleged three male offenders entered a store at a shopping centre on Heaths Road, armed with hammers, about 4.30pm.
They allegedly threatened staff members and stole clothing items.
They fled the store and got into a Nissan Patrol, which police spotted with alleged stolen plates in the shopping centre carpark.
The Nissan sped off on Barber Drive before it was cordoned by officers.
One of the occupants was arrested nearby on Millbank Drive and taken into custody.
Two other occupants of the Nissan fled on foot and were later arrested by police in Wyndham Vale.
An 18-year-old Tarneit man was charged with armed robbery, affray, theft and possess dangerous article.
He was remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court later today.
A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, also from the Tarneit area, were charged with the same offences; armed robbery, affray, theft and possess dangerous article.
They were both bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
