Three charged following weapon and drug seizure in Frankston

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged two men and a woman after they allegedly located drugs and weapons in Frankston yesterday.

Officers were called to check a suspicious vehicle in an isolated area of Overport Park on 8 July about 6.50am.

It is understood police found a man inside the vehicle and conducted a search, allegedly locating a 3D printed machine gun, taser and a drone.

The 49-year-old Frankston man was arrested and taken into custody.

Detectives subsequently conducted a search at a property in Frankston and allegedly located a revolver and ammunition, along with a quantity of drugs including cocaine, methamphetamines, ketamine, cannabis and MDMA.

A 47-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man who were at the address were arrested and taken into custody.

Whilst the three people were in custody, police re-visited the property in Frankston and allegedly located further weapons including another 3D printed machine gun, two handguns, an imitation handgun and ammunition behind a hidden compartment in the laundry.

The 49-year-old man was charged with multiple firearm offences including traffick firearms and manufacture firearms, possess 1.4 butane-diol, negligently deal proceeds crime and commit indictable offence on bail.

He was directly presented to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

The 47-year-old woman was charged with possess drug of dependence and was bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 31 July.

The 25-year-old man was interviewed and charged with drug trafficking offences and negligently deal with proceeds of crime and was bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 31 July.
