Police have arrested two boys following an extended follow overnight.
Officers observed an allegedly stolen white Mazda SUV driving erratically in Dandenong about 10.25pm on 16 January.
The car left Dandenong and drove towards the Melbourne CBD.
Police kept covert observations on the vehicle and it is alleged to continue to drive erratically and reached speeds in excess of 200 km/h on the Monash Freeway.
The car made its way into the Melbourne CBD before returning to the Monash Freeway and heading back towards Dandenong.
Officers continued to keep observations on the vehicle and were able to successfully deploy tyre deflation devices on Princes Highway in Berwick.
Two males ran from the car but they were quickly arrested by police.
A 17-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, both from the Cardinia region, are currently assisting police with their enquires.
It is alleged the Mazda was stolen from a residential address in Berwick on 12 January.
