Two arrested following fatal Norlane fire

Arson and Explosives Squad detectives have arrested two men following a fatal house fire in Norlane this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a block of units on Thompson Road about 3am on Tuesday, 31 March.

Crews extinguished the blaze and located an unresponsive woman inside one of the properties.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was treated at the scene but could not be revived.

A 35-year-old Norlane man and a 38-year-old Breakwater man were taken into custody and are currently assisting police with their investigations.

Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident and the cause of the fire.
