Two arrested following hit-run collision in St Albans

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two men following a serious hit-run collision in St Albans on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the Western Ring Road between Ballarat Road and Furlong Road about 11.30pm.

It is understood a Honda sedan crossed over several lanes before colliding with a Great Wall SUV.

The rear male passenger of the Honda, a 17-year-old Melton South boy, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver and front passenger of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.

The occupants of the Great Wall did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police have since arrested a 20-year-old Glenroy man and 20-year-old Sunshine West man who have been taken to hospital under police guard.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
