Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following an alleged attempted aggravated burglary in Narre Warren North yesterday.
It is alleged three men were seen trying to break into a property on Fontaine Terrace about 2.30am on 25 May.
Officers responded quickly, arriving within two to three minutes, and with assistance from the Dog Squad, arrested two men nearby.
A third man was observed by the Air Wing allegedly hiding against a fence line before he was arrested after surrendering to the sound of the approaching police dog.
A knife, baton, drugs of dependence and dumped backpack were allegedly located by officers at the scene.
A 23-year-old Dandenong man has been charged with aggravated burglary, possess methylamphetamine, possess cannabis, possess prohibited weapon, going equipped to steal and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
He was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 26 May.
A 45-year-old Narre Warren man has been charged with aggravated burglary, possess 1,4 Butanediol, handle stolen goods and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
He was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 16 June.
A 37-year-old Narre Warren man was transported to hospital after being bitten by a police dog and is yet to be interviewed.
