Witness appeal following Mount Waverley collision

Police are investigating a multi-vehicle collision in Mount Waverley this afternoon.

It is understood a grey Honda accord sedan was driving erratically in-bound on the Monash Freeway, near the Huntingdale off-ramp about 2.35pm.

The vehicle drove over the median strip before crashing into two cars that were stationery in outbound traffic, and landing on its roof.

The occupants, a 17-year-old boy from Bayside and a 17-year-old boy from the Manningham area, were hospitalised with serious injuries.

The pair remain under police guard.

Officers have been told the Honda was travelling in convoy with a grey Hyundai hatchback.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 14-year-old boy from Bayside was also arrested at the scene.

The occupants of the two other cars were uninjured.

The Honda was stolen from Cranbourne on 5 May, while the Hyundai was stolen from Noble Park North on 4 May.

The investigation remains ongoing.
