Prahran Highway Patrol and Public Order Response Team (PORT) officers have arrested a woman after an allegedly stolen vehicle was followed from Chapel Street to Werribee early hours this morning.
Officers patrolling Chapel Street caught sight of the allegedly stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee around midnight.
Police kept their distance as the Jeep travelled west towards the Westgate Bridge, allegedly reaching speeds exceeding 20km/h over the speed limit.
The Jeep was seen driving along the Princes Freeway towards Werribee eventually pulling up outside a Songlark Crescent address.
Officers moved in and swiftly arrested a 29-year-old Sunshine woman, alleged to be the driver, and recovered the Jeep.
There were no injuries.
The woman will be interviewed.
Investigators allege the Jeep as stolen from a Mentone address in March.
