Victoria Police have announced a $1 million reward for information surrounding the murder of Nina Nicholson.

On September 10, 1991, 22-year-old Clunes woman, Nina Caroline Nicholson was located deceased on the rear porch of her Suburban Street home by her father and brother.

Police have been told Nina had dinner with her parents and left their home around 8pm to prepare for her shift starting at St John of God’s Hospital in nearby Ballarat.

When she didn’t arrive for work enquiries were made with her family, leading to the discovery of her body at her Clunes residence.

The injuries sustained and evidence at the scene indicated to police that Nina was involved in a violent struggle before she died.

The co-operation of the public is sought to establish the identity of the person or persons responsible for the death of Nina Nicholson who was last seen alive on 10 September, 1991.

A reward of up to one million dollars ($1,000,000) will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner of Police, for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Nina Nicholson.

The Director of Public Prosecutions will consider, according to established guidelines, the granting of indemnification from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders in this matter.
