Missing Persons Squad detectives continue to investigate the disappearance of Ringwood woman Elisabeth Membrey in 1994.

Elisabeth was last seen as she was leaving the Manhattan Hotel in Ringwood, where she was employed, at about 11.45pm on Wednesday 7 December.

Detectives believe Elisabeth was murdered in her nearby flat before she was moved elsewhere.

Despite a significant investigation involving a number of specialist units, Elisabeth has not been located.

In 2010, detectives charged a then 43-year-old man with Elisabeth’s murder.

The man from Don Valley was acquitted in April 2012.

No one else has ever been charged.

Police remain committed to thoroughly investigating any new information that comes to light.

A $1 million reward announced in January of 2006 remains on offer to anyone who can provide information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for Elisabeth’s murder.

The Director of Public Prosecutions will consider, according to established guidelines, the granting of indemnification from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders in this matter.

Anyone with information about the 22-year-old’s disappearance is urged to contact crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
