Non-emergency crime incidents
Contact your local police station via phone or in person to report non-emergency crime incidents, except for crime types detailed below.

Please be aware you cannot report crime via the Victoria Police website.

Reporting crime or hoon behaviour
If you have any information regarding a crime, criminal activity, or hoon behaviour you can contact Crime Stoppers Victoria online or by calling on 1800 333 000 and confidentially report what you know.

Reporting cybercrime
Common types of cybercrime include attacks on computer systems (hacking), online scams or fraud, identity theft, online stalking (including cyberbullying) and illegal or prohibited online content. The Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (ACORN) is a secure reporting service for cybercrime incidents that may be in breach of Australian law. Certain reports will be directed to Australian law enforcement and government agencies for further investigation.

National Security and Terrorism
The National Security Hotline is the single point of contact for the public to report possible signs of terrorism. It also provides information to callers on a wide range of national security matters.

Licensing and Regulation Division is responsible for regulating and providing information regarding firearm and weapon related queries, including licensing, forms, permits and general enquiries.




Private Security Industry

Licensing and Regulation Division is the regulating authority of the private security industry in Victoria and can provide information about licensing, forms, permits and general enquiries. Issues involving security guards, crowd controllers or investigators should be forwarded to this Division.

The Police Conduct Unit is responsible for actioning compliments and complaints about behaviour of members of Victoria Police.

Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC)

IBAC is Victoria's first anti-corruption body with responsibility for identifying and preventing serious corrupt conduct across the whole public sector, including members of Parliament, the judiciary and state and local government.

IBAC also has a broad oversight role in relation to police personnel misconduct and an important education function to proactively assist public sector agencies to improve their systems and processes to prevent corrupt conduct.
