The Orange Door
The Orange Door provides help for people who are experiencing family violence, or who need family support for children and young people.
The Orange Door can connect you with parenting, family support, financial, legal, health, substance misuse, housing, employment, and education services.
Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre
Safe Steps is a family violence response service in Victoria. They offer specialist support services for anyone experiencing or afraid of family violence.
They can provide advice about ways to keep safe, including if you need emergency accommodation due to family violence.
1800RESPECT
1800RESPECT is a national family and sexual violence counselling, information and support service.
Centres Against Sexual Assault (CASA)
CASA provides support services and information to victim-survivors of sexual assault.
They work with people who are 16 and over, of any gender, sexuality or background.
WIRE
WIRE is a service for girls, women and gender diverse people.
They provide free support, referrals and information on any issue including family violence, financial abuse, housing and more.
MensLine Australia
MensLine Australia is a national telephone and online support, information and referral service for men with family and relationship concerns.
The service is free and staffed by professional counsellors who are experienced in men’s issues.
Men's Referral Service (operated by No to Violence)
The Men’s Referral Service is a national counselling, information and referral service for men who use violence and abuse.
The service aims to support men concerned about their behaviour to change.
The service also provides help to people who are experiencing violence or controlling behaviour by men.
inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence
inTouch provides services and programs for family violence in migrant and refugee communities.
They provide:
- support to victim-survivors, and
- programs for people who use family violence.
inTouch also has a community legal centre to help with migration legal issues.
Victims of Crime Helpline
The Victims of Crime Helpline offers free information and support for people affected by crime. The helpline provides:
- a supportive listening environment for victims of crime
- information about victim entitlements and the criminal justice system
- information about the legal process, including after an offender is in jail
- connections to other support services, such as the Victims Assistance Program.
Victims of Crime also provide information for men about family violence and abuse in relationships.
eSafety Commissioner
The eSafety Commissioner is Australia’s regulator for online safety. Their goal is to keep both adults and children safe from online harms and risks.
eSafety can investigate:
- cyberbullying of children
- adult cyber abuse
- image-based abuse (sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images without the consent of the person shown), and
- illegal and restricted content.
