eServices forms enable applicants to complete firearm licence applications online.
Firearm licence applications though eServices forms
The following applications must be completed via eServices forms:
- Longarm Licence Application (Category A, B, C, D or E Longarms)
- Handgun Licence Application (General Category Handgun or Category E Handgun)
- Provisional General Category Handgun Licence Application
- Junior Firearm Licence Application
- Heirlooms Licence Application
All other firearm licence forms can be downloaded and completed from the Firearm Forms and Reference Information page.
To be eligible for a Firearm Licence, you must demonstrate and maintain a genuine reason for needing the licence, have completed the relevant safety course, and meet probity requirements.
Items to have ready when completing an application
When completing your application online you need to provide details from supporting identity documents.
These documents will need to be certified and sent to the Licensing and Regulation Division (LRD) via post.
To make the application process easier, we suggest you have access to the following before completing your application online:
- a secure email address to receive a completed copy of your application
- personal information including details of ID documents
- details of relevant training
- evidence of genuine reason to hold a firearm
- a printer.
When you have completed your application online, a copy of the application will be sent to the email address provided within your application.
You will need to print the completed application and send it to the Licensing and Regulation Division (LRD), with all supporting documents, via post.
We will be unable to consider your application unless it is sent with supporting documents via post.
